Looks in Leather—Winter Trend Reports
By archaicpress@gmail.com / on February 15th, 2014 / in FashionCurtailing from the punk dark fashion of last winter, and interpreting hides in a more dimensional way, designers this season have taken classic lines and textures and spun them into another story. Simple moto jackets and bombers are reinvigorated with attention to detailing and post-creation embellishment. What once defined the bad-boy image of the 1950s is now a closet essential on so many levels.
Color and texture manipulation are two of the popular reinterpretations of the wintery leather jackets. Pops of crimson reds, blues and pinks offer a welcomed change from the traditional leathers in blacks and browns. Quilting and blends of processed leathers with unprocessed hides bring depth and originality to a traditional staple. Although it may not be completely reinvented, these lovable classics have the perfect modern twist to keep them around through the cold winters.
