Eastern European—Winter Trend Reports
By archaicpress@gmail.com / on March 9th, 2014 / in ARCHAIC PRESS, FashionThere’s a stark masculinity associated with the fashion of eastern Europe, but the strength plays to women’s wardrobes as well. With structured coats that must withstand the brutal winters, and elegant jackets that define the modern man, eastern European trends were a welcomed addition to this year’s A/W collections. The quintessential mixture of fashion and function, the pieces that came down the runways embodied everything that we love about the winter.
Warm woolen jackets, furs, and yes, even a touch of velvet, the eastern European trend played to tradition as much as it played to modernism. Intricate blends of fibers and skillful craftsmanship make this trend completely desirable, but it’s the nostalgic warmth that makes it irresistible. Collections such as Marks & Spencer and House of Fraser elevate timeless classics with modern styling and impeccable fits. While brands like River Island took a re-inventive route, redefining the classics through intricate detailing. Viewing classic lines through the lens of a modern eye, this season’s eastern European trend is completely archaic in the best of ways.
