Nostalgia About the Hollywood that Used to Be
By archaicpress@gmail.com / on July 21st, 2016 / in ARCHAIC PRESSLiving in a city as famed as Los Angeles, with the hills just off in the distance, we’re never too far from the sites and sounds of Hollywood. We all seem to know someone in show business, so the charm of the production is more in the people behind-the-scenes rather than what’s up on the silver screen. But every year, when awards season comes rolling along, we’re suddenly nostalgic about the Hollywood that used to be—the Old Hollywood, filled with stars and charm, and classic beauty that abounded at the seams.
Since the new era of celebrities came into the picture, the social fabric of the city has changed. Lights grew even brighter, opportunities became even more plentiful, and the eyes of not only the nation but the world now look up at cinema screens. It’s a town of endless new stories, that tackle the issues of the world, but at the heart of Hollywood remnants of the old city can still be found. You can see the classic glamour in the red carpet attire, the lights of a premiere, even in the eyes of the best new actress, fresh into town. And it’s these remnants, our favorite parts of the past, that we decided to pay homage to this season in Archaic Press.
Old Hollywood glamour is something that the world remembers, like scenes from an old movie. Stars and celebrities from classic films play the characters in our minds, and the fashion seems ageless in beauty. But it’s also something that is reimagined every day. So this season we want you to learn a bit more about the city, the people, and the culture that are keeping Old Hollywood alive. And like everyone else in this city, we hope that you just might be that star on the rise!
