Every year come 11/01, after the record-breaking post-Halloween sugar crash, the resentment sets in. Summer is officially over, Autumn is on its way out, and all that’s left are the lesser parts of the holiday season. I know, it’s a typically depressing outlook for a Halloween lover, but it’s the reality that I find myself in each and every year.

But this year is different… This November is not just any old cornucopia of disappointment, because with the advent of Netflix our dreams have come true. As we count down the days to Gilmore GIrls: A Year in the Life we’re celebrating the only way we know how—binge watching each and every episode right down to the pilot. And in honor of International #GilmoreMonth we’re setting aside most of our days to celebrate and revisit our better halves, the Lorelais!

Since 2007 the Gilmore Girls has been off the air, and as a journalist and avid fan, I’ve been dreaming of the day that my favorite characters would come back to life. Thanks to a little funding by Netflix, and some undoubtedly brilliant writing to warrant its resurrection, the Gilmore Girls will be returning for a short four episode reprisal to stitch up loose ends and give audiences what they’re looking for—closure. Although I didn’t have the chance to report on the show in its early years, I wasn’t going to let this opportunity pass me up.

So, this month we’ve come up with a plan—a calendar so exhausting and exhilarating that it consumes each and every November day with at least a handful of episodes of the Gilmore Girls. We’ll walk through the story of Stars Hollow, right up to the newest episodes released later this month, and together we hope to embark on this journey with fresh eyes and a new perspective. We promise to revisit each episode with our honest opinion, and highlight our favorite moments along the way.
